Dear Patients,
As we take the next step to gradually resume your dermatologic care, we wanted to update you on modifications to our standard practice. We are implementing infection control policies, procedures and systems that meet or exceed the CDC’s Standard Precautions for Dermatologic Practices, and guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Dermatology.
Through careful planning and the guidance of local and state governing bodies we’ve adopted the following measures to ensure patient safety and minimize the spread of COVID-19:
- Appointments:
- Online Tele-dermatology Appointments: In adherence with the state Safer-at-Home directive, we will continue to maximize teledermatology appointments when appropriate.
- “Live” In Person Appointments will be triaged and offered on a case-by-case basis.
- Face Mask Mandation: All patients with in-office appointments are required to wear a face mask or face covering for the entire duration of their visit. All Rocky Mountain Dermatology staff are wearing medical-grade, surgical face masks. Providers are wearing N95 masks when appropriate.
- Elimination of Waiting Room: Upon arrival to the parking lot, patients are asked to call the front desk to check-in. Please remain in your vehicle until told to enter the building by our front desk staff. Patients will be escorted directly into an exam room. At the conclusion of the visit, if a follow-up appointment is needed, patients are asked to call the clinic to schedule, instead of stopping at the front desk.
- Patient Health Screening: We are conducting rigorous pre-appointment screening of patients for exposures or symptoms suggestive of COVID-19. This occurs when a patient calls to schedule an in-office visit. Upon arrival, all patients are required to complete a screening questionnaire and have their temperature taken. Any patient that has exhibited symptoms associated with COVID-19 within the past 14 days and/or has a temperature of 100.0℉ or higher are kindly asked to reschedule their appointment to minimize exposure risk.
- Office Sanitization: We’ve increased our comprehensive disinfecting protocols beyond routine medical standards. Frequently touched surfaces (door handles, counter tops, exam tables, etc.) are thoroughly cleaned after each patient. Ready-to-access hand sanitizers are strategically placed throughout the office for both patient and staff use.
- Updated Insurance: If you need to update your insurance information, please email a copy of your updated card, front and back, to info@rockymtndermatology.com. All copays will be billed following the appointment.
- Staff Screening: Each staff member will complete a routine symptom screening and temperature check at the start and conclusion of her shift.
- No Additional Guests: In an effort to comply with social distancing mandates, we ask that you refrain from bringing guests with you to your visit unless a caretaker is needed.
- Updated Insurance: If you need to update your insurance information, please email a copy of your updated card, front and back, to info@rockymtndermatology.com. All copays will be billed following the appointment.
We will continue to adapt our practices to best support you and your health as our sense of community takes on a new meaning.
All our best,
The Team at Rocky Mountain Dermatology
